The King George V-class battleships were a class of five battleships built for the Royal Navy during the Second World War. They were the most modern British battleships in commission during the war. All five ships saw combat during the war, with King George V and Prince of Wales being involved in the action that resulted in the sinking of the German battleship Bismarck.
