The Typhoon-class submarine, also known as Project 941 Akula, was a class of nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines designed and built by the Soviet Union. It was the largest submarine ever built, with a displacement of 48,000 tons and a length of 175 meters. The Typhoon class was armed with 20 ballistic missiles, each with a maximum of 10 MIRV nuclear warheads.
